To the Future

Behind the Indian Head

Obviously firing Coach Q was a hard decision for the Blackhawks to make, and we will have a lot of time to dwell on all he meant to the city and his success here. But now it is time to look to the future and see what the 38th Head Coach of the Chicago Blackhawks has to offer.

Jeremy Colliton was just recently hired to be the head coach of the Rockford Ice Hogs, and now the 33 year old former center in the NHL finds himself the head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Being so young Colliton can brings some news looks to the Hawks that Q just couldn’t bring. Coaching these days is focused on speed and driving up ice with the puck something Joel did not like to see from his defense, ask Nick Leddy how that turned out for him. The Blackhawks defense will be the first thing Colliton must fix.

Also expect Dylan Sikura to be called up in the next few days from the AHL. Depth scoring has been an issue and hopefully Colliton can bring some with from the AHL.

These are all a lot of ifs and hopefully’s but expect a change in the power play and overall play for the Chicago Blackhawks. More to come soon…
