The Chicago Bears are on track to make the playoffs for the first time in a lot of years. After finishing last in their division since 2014 and failing to have a winning record since 2012 the Bears are finally a good team again. What changed?
In 2015 the Chicago Bears made a change they brought in Ryan Pace. Pace has served as gm since then and was the youngest gm in NFL history. Pace is responsible for bringing in a lot of the current team. He drafted Mitch Trubisky, Roquan Smith, and Jason Howard. Pace excelled the team to success by trading for James Daniels and Khalil Mack.
The Bears at the start of the year many thought would just maybe break 500 on the year. Thanks to Matt Nagy and a new coaching system the Bears have managed to play a very successful brand of football.
Head Coach Matt Nagy is enjoying his first coaching job. After serving as Offensive Coordinator of the Chiefs last year Nagy has a lot to prove as a head coach. He has let linebacker Roquan Smith shine in his rookie year, and has coached a very interesting Bears team to be successful. The Bears have been playing a fun style of football. Letting linemen Akiem Hicks score a touchdown on the two yard line just showed how much fun this team is having.
The one thing that really changed for the Chicago Bears is how they play the approach the game of football. Ryan Pace changed nearly everyone of the starting players, with only Kyle Long remaining on the offense from the older team. Matt Nagy changed the way the players played the game of football, with a defensive driven team, with an explosive fast offense. It was the players that changed the culture in the locker room. The culture is what is driving the Bears to victory, whether it be the post interception celebration or the trick plays to give lineman touchdowns the Bears are having fun again.
