Anyone know who Tom Brady is? Please email me if you do give me some info. Apparently this guy has been playing football the same amount of time that I have been alive. (About 18 years) This Brady guy is often referred to as the GOAT, I believe that is an acronym standing for greatest of all time. Tom has 7 rings, 6 for super bowl wins and 1 for a marriage to Gisele Bundchen. Anywho the photo used to caption this article is the Patriots team celebrating their latest super bowl championship. I do mean the entire Patriots team. Bill Belichick and Tom Brady might be the two best people ever to leave a mark in the National Football League. Enough about that lets look at this game alone.
Bill Belichick might have earned this title single handedly. Belichick coached the Patriots to a system on defense that the Rams could not keep up with, holding the Rams to just 3 points in what would prove to be one of the most boring games of football is a pretty big accomplishment. Tom Brady’s alarm did not go off until the fourth quarter but no worries that is all he really needed to play in this one. Belichick moved the defense to a 6 man front going into this game, something that confused Goff and company and forced the Rams to snap the ball inside to C.J. Anderson. All of that strategy helped the Pats win the lowest scoring Super Bowl in football history, good fro them.
Many predicted, me included a high scoring game. The over under was in the 50’s and boy if someone tried to bet that the game would only have 1 touchdown I would have bet all the money in my pocket.
How did we get here? The Rams started the game out with a lighting strike. They literally could not have started off better, after getting an interception on Brady’s first pass they just could not get anything started. That is the key to beating Tom Brady, capitalizing on mistakes. Brady threw 12 interceptions this year, including the one in the Super Bowl. It does not happen often that Brady plays catch with someone not in a Patriots uniform, and when it happens that team better score a touchdown in the ensuing drive.
Bill Belichick made a key adjustment in the fourth quarter. The Patriots went with a bigger backfield on the drive that lead to the touchdown. The Pats had 2 running backs and 2 tight ends in the back field the entire time, really forcing the Rams to worry about the run game the entire time. Belichick forced the Rams to play the game honest and not cheat to Brady’s arm.
The Super Bowl last night was not exciting by any means. If I am being honest with you some of the commercials were better than some of the game play, I mean come on Game of Thrones and Bud Light in one commercial!
