Khalil Mack and the Bears attacking defense won a 15-6 defensive battle against the Las Angelas Rams last night. Defense wins championships, the Bears D not only has 4 interceptions and 3 key sacks on the game last night, but also has a championship caliber defense. Shutting down the run game of the once 11-1 Rams, now 11-2, would be a challenge, but the Bears made it look easy.
Special teams is key for the Bears, last week against the Giants they recovered an onside kick, this week the defense forced a safety against the Rams. Following a tough loss to the Giants the Bears are responding right.
The New York Giants had the Bears‘ number last week. After a tough OT loss Chicago managed to turn things around against one of their toughest opponents left. Mitch Trubisky came back and played a great game of football passing for 110 yards on the day. Obviously there was a little bit of rust in Mitch’s game including 3 interceptions, but the Bears D managed to stop every chance the Rams had following great field position.
One component critical to the Bears success come the playoffs will be there run game. Jordan Howard ran for 101 yards, a successful run game will leave the opponents defense guessing making the Bears passing game more successful.
The Bears game had one play that sent a dagger into the Rams. Bears are on the two yard line, the play looks very similar to last weeks run to Akiem Hicks. Hicks is in the backfield again this week. Snap* Mitch takes the ball fakes a handoff to Hicks, and tosses the ball across the defense to the wide open Bradley Sowell, an offensive linemen who has more fantasy football points then my entire team combined.
The Chicago Bears are a fun team to watch, the NFC competition is getting tough, and with the Vikings facing off against the Seahawks tonight the Bears need to keep winning their games in order to make the playoffs. A win against the Green Bay Packers at home would be a great way to end this week. Go Bears...
