From Soldier Field -
The Chicago Bears finally clinched the NFC North title today. Even more important, they beat the Green Bay Packers to do it. Magic Mitch Trubisky played a good game of football against the Packers. I always feel that he can get better and he proves me right every week. Magic Mitch threw for 235 yards? and a pair of touchdowns, with no interceptions on the day.
Everything went great for the Bears, everyone watching would have appreciated the final score being 500-17 ,but 24-27 was alright too.
Leroy Butler, former Packers safety, ripped Aaron Rodgers following the loss saying,
“I mean really if you can’t out play Mitch Trubisky, how good are you?”
Butler’s statement is flawed. Rodgers was not playing Mitch Trubisky, he was playing the Bears defense, something no one can ever compete against. The Bears defense ended Rodgers 402 pass attempts without an interception today. The interception came in the end zone which only made the catch even better. Eddie Jackson ran up to about the 10 yard line with the ball before falling and suffering an apparent lower body injury.
The only low from this week for the Bears is how Jackson left the game. Eddie Jackson is a big part of the Bears defense, having 5 interceptions to his name this year alone with 2 touchdowns. Seeing Jackson leave the game with an injury does not leave a good taste in Bears fans’ mouths.
